Thanks for the feedback, it's always good to hear what people like.
With the visual editor (we actually call it a WYSIWYG editor), we added this because we thought it would make the system easier to use. A lot of systems don't have one of these without having to install a plugin or addon of some sort, so we felt it was sensible to include one by default. With staying logged in, you do have a bit of control over this. If you go to Admin - General Settings and scroll to the bottom, there's an option called "Cookie Duration". This controls how long you'll be logged in for. By default it is set to 14 days, which we thought was a good balance between convenience and security. You can increase or decrease this if you wish. Also, if you go to Admin - User Sessions, you'll see all the users who are currently logged in. I expect you're the only one on the list, but if you've ever noticed the "thanks for commenting" page over at benbarden.com, you'll see that it encourages people to log in. It's interesting to keep an eye on the User Sessions page to see how many people log in. Plus if you delete a user session, that person will be logged out. Finally, when you log out, all of your sessions will be deleted. This is handy if you have logged on across multiple browsers or computers and you want to make sure you're not still logged in. We chose not to do this automatically when you close your browser as we know that not everyone wants to do this. |

I don't use the Visual Editors on other systems because they're never truly WYSIWYG but this one is really very usable, as Sweetmummy says.
Hadn't noticed the "cookie duration" item as I've got FF set to clear (most) cookies on closing the browser, but I love the flexibility to control the persistence: will 'allow' an exception, to take advantage of this useful feature! I'll add another to the list of Things To Like About Majestic: navigation. No matter where you are, it seems, there are links to take one quite efficiently to wherever else on the site you want to go with minimal clicks. |

Thanks Jen, the navigation has always been a very high priority for us - if you can't get around a site, it doesn't bode well!
We wanted to make it easy to build a site that's easy to use. I may use this thread to highlight some of the benefits on the website... so please keep the comments coming. |
