Majestic 1.5 Release Notes

< Majestic 1.4.1 Release Notes | Release Archive | Majestic 1.5.1 Release Notes >

Majestic 1.5 introduces our biggest change yet, along with several other improvements to the system.

Basic/Premium version

You can now download a completely free version of Majestic - no 30 day limit!  The free version is called "Majestic Basic".  A number of features have either been disabled or limited, but you should find it is a lot better than being limited to a 30 day trial.

The paid version is called "Majestic Premium".  The Basic version has a PayPal button that will allow you to upgrade quickly and easily.

More information about what this means for your site can be found in the Injader Blog.

Attach files to content

You can now attach one file to each article.  This is a cut down version of what file areas already provide, but we intend to add more features in future versions.

We will be phasing out file areas when file attachments have the same level of functionality.  When we phase out file areas, the upgrade script will automatically migrate all of your file areas to articles with attachments.  However, the permissions will not be migrated, so if you have any restricted access file areas then you may wish to note this before you upgrade.  We'll explain more nearer the time.

More bulk content tools

Premium version only: You can now lock, unlock, and edit the author on multiple articles at a time.

Stumble This! link

You can now include a Stumble This! link in your area and page templates.

Small improvements

We've also made a number of smaller improvements, including:
  • Search in titles (not just the page body)
  • Auto-set avatar after uploading
  • Display HTTP status code in error log (if applicable)
  • Deleting avatars via the admin screens now works correctly
