As we have started to attract some new users who are keen to try out Majestic, we thought it might help to let you know where we're heading in the coming weeks and months.

Majestic 1.5.x

For the time being we are continuing with 1.5.x, with small improvements, performance changes and maintenance work.  1.5.6 is currently in development.  There may be a few more instalments in the 1.5.x series of releases.

Majestic 1.6

This version will focus on the removal of file areas.  All existing file areas and files will be migrated to content areas, articles and attachments.  In order to make this happen we have to bring article attachments in line with the existing file area functionality.

Majestic 1.7

This version will simplify our template system.  The idea is to combine site templates, area templates, page templates and comment templates into themes, with all of the boxes appearing on one screen.  If this sounds like you'll have far too many boxes to work with, we're going to try and combine some of them - such as the wrapper/item templates - which will make the whole system a lot easier to use.  All existing templates will be migrated to the new system.

Beyond that...

We are very focused on making the system as easy to use as possible, and we're always happy to consider suggestions.  If there is anything you don't like or anything you think we could improve, please post in our Help Forum.

Even for 1.6 and 1.7, our plans are not fully set in stone.  We can't give any dates yet.  However, we will continue to update you on our progress.  Subscribe to the Injader Blog to stay updated.
