Majestic 1.5.8 Release Notes
< Majestic 1.5.7 Release Notes | Release Archive | Injader 1.6.0 Release Notes >
This version of Majestic contains a lot of changes, mostly to the back-end. The upgrade is slightly different this time. After uploading all of the files to your site, go to the sys folder and change the permissions on SystemDirs.php to 777. (Refer to the installation guide, step 3, if you need a reminder on how to do this.)
Now run the upgrade as usual. When your site has been upgraded, delete the installer folder as usual, but you can also delete the following files:
sys/majestic-logo-small.jpg
sys/majestic-logo.jpg
And delete the following folders:
sys/ajax
sys/classes
sys/constants
sys/ifw
Make sure you don't delete the sys folder altogether, though - just the files and folders listed above.
Improvements in this version
- Comment moderation - All comments from new users will now go into moderation. You can choose to approve or deny a comment, and you can also trust or suspend a user at the same time. Trusted users will be excluded from moderation in future, while suspended users will be blocked from commenting altogether. You can find the comment management screens in the AdminCP under Comments.
- Meta description changes - Previously, the meta description (seen by search engines) was generated from the description of your site. This was the same for every page. Now, area pages will include the area description if one is set, and articles will include a short excerpt of the page content.
