Injader 2.0.0 - First beta released
I'm pleased to announce that the first beta release of Injader 2.0.0 is now available to download!
Please, please, please... read this blog post before you go any further.
What's changed?
Have a read of the
Injader 2.0.0 Release Notes. This post contains the main changes in this version.
Although the list of features in this version is not particularly long, there are MAJOR changes in Injader 2.0.0. Specifically, the removal of file areas. This is something I've been working towards for some time. It is something I wanted to get out of the way before promoting Injader too heavily, as it would be foolish to get loads of people using it and then spring such a massive update on them.
If you're an existing user, don't panic - I have mission-critical sites running Injader too, so I'm not hanging you out to dry. The main thing I want to stress is this: I strongly advise that you do not immediately upgrade a site that is on an older version of Injader to this version. It may work fine, but it may not. I've fixed all the bugs I could find. I now need some people to help me test the system some more.
How you can help
You can do one of two things - or maybe even both, if you're feeling particularly helpful.
If you do not have an existing site using Injader and want to hunt down some bugs, please feel free to download Injader and set up a test site. Of course, you can also evaluate whether Injader is the right system for you. Just bear in mind that as it's a beta, bugs are far more likely at this stage than they will be when the beta testing cycle is complete.
If you have an existing site, try copying your site to another location so you have a duplicate that won't matter if things go awry. Then upgrade the duplicate site to Injader 2.0.0, and see how you get on.
Of course, I will be testing this version as well, but I'm going to test a few upgrades
offline before converting any of my sites.
If you choose to use this version, you do so at your own risk. I cannot be held responsible for anything that might go wrong.
How to give feedback
If you have any feedback please check out the
forums. Use the forum that's most appropriate for your comments - if you need help use the help forum, if you have suggestions use the suggestions forum, if you find bugs use the bug reports forum. Simple really!
Get the first beta.
If you've read all of that and you're willing to help me find some bugs, go ahead and
download Injader 2.0.0.B1. Thanks in advance for your help - I really appreciate it!
